Resizable BAR is Now Supported on Intel Z490 Platforms
What is Resizable BAR?
WEB Resizable BAR (Base Address Register) is a PCIe capability that allows the host system to access a larger portion of the GPU's memory. This can improve performance in certain games and applications by reducing latency and increasing bandwidth.
Intel Support for Resizable BAR
Intel has recently published a document outlining the requirements for Arc GPU support on their platforms. This includes support for Resizable BAR on Z490 motherboards. This will allow users to take advantage of the performance benefits of Resizable BAR with compatible GPUs.
Requirements for Resizable BAR Support
In order to use Resizable BAR, you will need the following:
- An Intel Z490 motherboard
- A compatible GPU
- A BIOS update that enables Resizable BAR support
If you meet these requirements, you can enable Resizable BAR in your BIOS settings. Once enabled, you should see a performance improvement in games and applications that support Resizable BAR.
